The club was formed in 1946 from Brae Lochaber (formed 1887) and Spean Bridge (formed 1894). The constituent clubs then split between 1949 and 1958 before amalgamating again in 1958. These two clubs were very prominent in the first days of organised shinty. The club has become a force in shinty in recent years, knocking out Kingussie from the Camanachd Cup quarter finals in 2004 and gaining promotion to the Premier Division the same year. However, their stay was short-lived and they were relegated in 2005 to North Division One. However, the club made another quick return to the Premier and will retake its place in 2007 after winning Division One. The second team also won North Division Three in 2006 |

You can add pretty much anything you like to news items such as this. When they are put on the front page they should show up to the minute news relevant to the date etc. Pictures can be added to give the story a bit of life. News items are a good way to let folks know what is going on on a week to week basis with the club.
When these items are taken off the frot page they will be stored in an archive under the heading "latest news" |

Well thats our first teams season finished with a well earned point in a 0-0 draw with Oban Camanachd. We have to wait and see how other results gp before we know if Lochaber will stay in the premier division next season. Have your say on Lochabers first team performances this season and any other related issues in our forum. |
